This priest stands upright wearing a robe with medium wide sleeves that extend to the wrists and stretches in long vertical fold to his bare feet. The top of the robe is decorated with a wide V-shaped black border and is also tied at the waist with a rounded black sash. The priest's head is painted with reddish-brown flesh tones as if he were agitated, his lips are painted red and the flesh tones on his forehead and below the dark-brown and white glass eyes are painted with a red coloring to his skin. The priest wears a flat rounded beret-like hat on the top of his head which is painted like his robe: with brown facet-like decoration over a silver ground. The beard is full and, like his hair, is a red-brown color. Also, like the robe, the hair is represented as long rows of parallel rounded lines as if a number of strands of hair were bundled together in cords laid side by side. The beard is arranged below, repeating the rounded vertical folds of a double chin underneath it. The prominent triangular nose, the recessed mouth, and in the intense forward stare from the priest makes this a very dramatic piece.
